There are things that data and theory cannot teach you! This summer school organised by Material Design Lab is about how to know for yourself. From craft to synthetic biology, they will guide you through hands-on experiences were you will learn about making materials and design.

This short course is placed in a cross-disciplinary field between art, technology and natural science. You will explore the making of things in a future that presents a lack of resources, emanating new technologies and requirements for products to fit in to a circular economy
This is what a dedicated participant will get out of this course:
– An understanding of how circular economy works in practice.
– Methods to explore and work with materials
– Knowledge about possible ways of designing and making in the future
– A basic understanding of bio-fabrication.
Primary lecturers are product designer and Ph.D fellow Mette Bak-Andersen, Head of Material Design Lab and bioengineer and molecular biologist Keenan Pinto from Space 10 and Biologigaragen.
