This winter, the Circular Economy Club will combine our popular Circular Cities Week event with the return of our global Mapping Project to ensure no city is left behind.
What is Circular Cities Week & the Mapping Project 2024?
Circular Cities Week is an annual, decentralised global event. Circular Economy Clubs around the world organise their own events, workshops and meet-ups to identify opportunities and next steps to encourage implementation of the circular economy in their cities.
As part of the Cities Week events, City Leads will be working with their members and attendees to map circular initiatives and projects currently running in their regions. These will create the base for the Circular Cities Mapping Project. A global map identifying circular economy initiatives and projects in different regions, featuring key information on the initiative. The map is a place to highlight and learn from current initiatives, and to spot opportunities for innovations and cross-sector / geographical collaborations to enable wider circular economy growth.
How can I get involved in Circular Cities Week and the Mapping Project 2024?
As an attendee

As an organiser
If your city is not yet on the list, and you cannot find a CEC Club near you, you could consider applying to Become a CEC City Lead. As a City Lead, you’ll be able to create an event in your city.
We’ll be on hand to provide you with support for your event, including a CEC Toolkit with a step-by-step on how to organise the session.
- We will setup a call to run through the logistics of running a Circular Cities Week event, including information on the mapping project
- Once confirmed, the team will share a form to be completed – we will then list the event as part of Cities Week on the CEC website and Circular Economy Connect (our member only networking platform)
- You’ll be given access to our toolkits to help prepare for the event/s, as well as having regular touchpoints with the CEC team so we can support you in coordinating the event/s
- It’s go time! Enjoy your Circular Cities Week event/s and complete the relevant tasks as part of these to feed into the mapping project
- Share the relevant information with the CEC team post-event/s to feed into the event report and mapping project
