  • Dear CEC Members, Experts and Participants to the Circular Cities Week 2019,

As the appointed CEC Kuala Lumpur Organiser in Malaysia, I am delighted to present this exciting agenda of the Circular Economy Club (CEC) in Kuala Lumpur on: A Supply Chain Revolution: How the Circular Economy Unlocks New Value for Your Business & Rewards your Customers where the Project Team has worked tirelessly on.

This Circular Economy Club knowledge transfer and consultative workshop is a strategic engagement platform that will expand your knowledge around what circularity really means and the circular initiatives taking place globally. It is also an opportunity to socialise with other circular economy professionals and brainstorm on future projects. There will be a networking session for you to interact with our circular economy enthusiasts across different sectors and types of organizations and a facilitation session on how to complete your first Circular City Canvas in your respective Working Groups.

At the end of this consultative workshop, you will get a clear idea of the state of the circular economy and will have clear examples to help you explain the circular framework to your leaders, decision makers and colleagues. You will also have the chance to learn about what other peers are doing worldwide.

It is timely that the Circular Economy Club bring the retailers, manufactures of packaging, users, consumers and interested parties together to consult with one another and discover how to capture new value for businesses that adds extra dimensions to supply chains.

At a time when it is gaining momentum as a critical tool for future-fit businesses, we believe instead of leaking value by discarding products and materials after use, the circular economy redesigns products, processes, supply chains and business models to yield more value.

We are bringing together some of the most forward thinking industry players who have scanned the world for signs of change in business and will help you make sense of emerging patterns and their implications.

Because everything is accelerating from mutually catalytic technologies and disruptive ways of conducting business to fast-moving global emerging markets and collapsing products and firms, the Circular Economy Club is rightly asking how to stay ahead of the curve. This consultative workshop will unlock ideas on creating durable products, and recovering products and materials at end of use, enables reuse, repair, remanufacture and recycling.

You will hear new ways of thinking about circular economy approaches that regenerate ecosystems by converting ‘take-make-use-waste’ into ‘value loops’ by creating more from less and learning to decouple resource use from value creation.

I wish you a very productive workshop.
