Saturday 23 November we celebrate sustainability in Porto with a busy day focused on circular practices in the fashion system.
Industry called small social businesses and local projects whose mission is to raise awareness against fast fashion and the negative impact of fashion industry celebrating circularity and sustainability.
It’s a full day with many activities such as clothes repair workshop by Repair Café Porto and Circular Economy Portugal, clothes swapping by Let’s Swap and Circular Wear, upcycling demo and upcycled clothes presentation by Vintage for a Cause and conversations about circular economy and sustainability in the fashion industry showing some of the SKFK principles and also their suppliers.
You will learn more about SKFK, its history in the person of its founder Mikel Elzo, philosophy and post-consumer circular practices by Gquattro, a Portuguese recycled fiber producer.
It’s the European Week Waste Reduction 2019, organized in Porto by Lipor and instead of the black friday consumer fever, textile waste prevention serves as a theme for a party.
