    LSBU is hiring a Research Assistant (Job reference: REQ3375) who will support and focus on the hands-on design, development and testing of CE-fit data centre equipment for CEDaCI project through liaison and collaboration with experts across the entire DC sector. The project will also involve travel to, contribution to and participation in partnership meetings, sectoral network and other events in the NWE region.


    1. To undertake specific research tasks under supervision and within the
    research programme.
    2. Responsibility for the exploration, execution and (where appropriate) design
    of research activities
    3. To communicate, liaise and collaborate with key partners, associates and
    stakeholders throughout the project
    4. To attend meetings, co-creation workshops and other events associated
    with the project
    5. To contribute to reports, research and other papers and disseminate findings
    at conferences, industry events etc
    6. To support the project team in digital and other communication activities
    7. To contribute to the development of Design Research and Enterprise within
    the School of Engineering
    8. To support and carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade
    which the line manager reasonably requests

    A. Graduate / post graduate qualification in product design / engineering with basic
    understanding of the Circular Economy
    B. Experience of design, manufacture and other relevant criteria associated with the
    development of a Circular Economy
    C. Knowledge of the design and manufacture of electronic and electrical products
    D. Experience in experimental modelling and testing preferably related to electrical and electronic products
    E. Experience in the preparation of reports and visual presentations
    F. Good general IT skills with the ability to learn new software quickly
    G. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    H. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with international project
    partners and stakeholders across the sector
    I. Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing, and ideally to have good visual communication skills
    J. Able to demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity and its practical application.
