I have worked globally for multilateral and development finance institutions (DFIs) with advising, consulting and providing thought leadership for private sector development. Some of my current work focuses on entrepreneur ecosystems, circular economy, ICT & Digital Platform Strategy, agribusiness and SME finance innovations (using financial innovations to open up liquidity in underserved markets). In addition, I focus on integrating SMEs and local suppliers to global supply chains for job creation for African youth and young adults. Furthermore, I focus on the nexus of connecting the African Diaspora and professionals from the private sector to provide technical assistance and mentorship to SMEs.
In addition, I support due diligence and investment analysis on early-stage investments and connect startups and SMEs to my global network of impact and venture capital investors focused on Emerging Markets. Often times, I look for opportunities to connect early-stage enterprises to global supply chains for corporate mentorship and corporate venture capital support.
Commercializing African Innovation
I’m supporting and advising African tertiary institutions to scale innovations that can create medium to large enterprises that can employ hundreds to thousands of engineers, scientists, youth and the general public. The African continent is forecast to have 2 billion inhabitants by 2050 – this will impact Climate Change, Food Security and Jobs. I’m using my network, partners and collaborators to scale innovations that can solve African challenges but can be home-grown enterprises that can create jobs.
