Hi all Gold Coasters,
I have just completed my Circular Economy Specialist certificate with the Circular Economy Institute and I would like to start up a Club i.e. network that can promote much-needed local collaboration between businesses here on the Gold Coast.
I have worked in this industry for a while and I know businesses that are interested in becoming more circular, I think this type of networking will help to identify and create industrial symbioses that are unknown today.
I also want this to become a forum where the community can knowledge share about what circular economy is and how it can be implemented by businesses, to help transform the linear structure on the Gold Coast into a more circular one.
I am aware that there is a group in Brisbane as well that we potentially could engage with in the future, however, the Gold Coast club will focus mainly on the local businesses in our own City.
I will initiate the work by having breakfast meetings every 3 months (or more frequently if that is requested by the industry). I will try to find companies that want to join and sponsor the club by providing a venue for the initial catch-ups. At this initial meeting, we will set up goals, rules, and strategies for this Club to become a vibrant meeting place for local businesses located on the Coast.
