  • BioVill Seminar and site visits | Outreach and knowledge sharing to follower villages

     

    Day 1, 28 January 2019 | Arrival of invited experts from Germany and Austria to Bucharest or Sibiu

    Day 2, 29 January 2019 | Site visits in Biovill Target Villages

     

    Site visit in Estelnic:

    • Mayoralty, Angustia Leader Office, Cultural Center: The heating system at the local public institutions provide heat energy to three entities. The biomass came from the local biomass producer who has more than 70 ha energy willow plantation in the region. There is a biomass boiler with a capacity of 130 kW provide the necessary heat for the mayoralty, Angustia Leader Office and local Cultural Center. The total heated area is around 500 m2. Furthermore, the municipality has 3 ha energy plantation which can ensure the biofuel for long term.
    • Biomass Deposit Center: Few years ago a local farmer started to develop his business in biomass production in Estelnic. Nowadays he owning a large biomass deposit center with more than 3000 m 3 capacity and more than 70 ha energy willow plantation.

     

    Site visit in Ghelinta:

     

    • Bingo Bakery: Thanks to the Biovill project, the owner of the local bakery installed four biomass ovens with total nominal capacity of 500 kW. The biomass ovens work permanent, while several hundred kilogramm bakery products is baked by using of local biomass.
    • Elementary School: At the local elemenatary school operating a biomass boiler with 500 kW capacity where basically sawdust is considered as biofuel. The boiler can ensure the heating supply for more than 600 pupils during the very strong winters in Ghelinta.
    • Mayoralty: In 2019 going to be installed the 100 kW biomass boiler at the mayoralty. The building is under construction, several offices going to be build additionaly. Since after the construction the heating demand going to be duble, a new biomass boiler is foreseen for the building.

     

    Site visit of the Zabala Estate – Biomass hetaing system: Count Ármin Mikes owned one of the largest private forests in Transylvania before the communist regime confiscated his properties. Due to the Romanian restitution laws his descendants are able to start rebuilding the prosperous forestry business which the family has operated at the beginning of the 20th century. Nowadays at the Zabola Estate is operating a micro biomass based district heating system with 500 kW installed capacity. In the future there is a plan to install an additional biomass boiler to heat the future well-ness center along the historical buildings in the faboulos garden.
