  • We’ll be kicking off 2020 with a session on Circular Reflections and Resolutions, hearing different perspectives and experience.

    About this Event

    Circular Reflections and Resolutions

Join the Circular Economy Club Reading (CEC Reading) at the Curious Lounge, a 2 min walk from the station and partnering with ReadingCAN to reflect, share and explore ways to make Reading more Circular in 2020.

What is the Reading Circular Economy Club?

We are part of the Circular Economy Club, a global network of over 3,500 circular economy professionals and organisations in over 100 countries changing the way our cities operate.

Our aim is to use Circular Economy models, design and thinking as innovation drivers to reduce waste and rethink products, business and behaviours, creating new and wider value for our community.

We act as a platform to amplify local initiatives and create new opportunities, bringing businesses, government, individuals and academic together.

We want to be brave, innovative, thoughtful and impactful.

We aim to meet every other month for an interactive, hands-on and fun event where ideas are shared and actions agreed to “put” Reading on the map of Circular Economy.

    About this event

Have you discovered the Circular Economy recently or has it shaped your work and thinking for a while?

What are the events, reasons, things that might have caused you to reflect and shift your work or views?

Looking to the next year what are you hopeful for around the circular economy and what might you be able to implement into your work or life?

We’ll be kicking off 2020 with a session on Circular Reflections and Resolutions. We’ll be hearing different perspectives and experience from a panel, from startups to educators, grassroots campaigns to bigger business. It will also be a chance to reflect and explore your own potential actions in 2020 and beyond.

    Our panel:

Jennifer Decker, Circular Business and sustainability partner at QSA Partners. They help businesses create and deliver circular business models in with a recent example being the Adidas infinite play customer buy back scheme. They focus on cities, mobility, built environment, textiles, electrical and circular citizens.

Maya Gheorghe is the Founder and Director at Maya’s Refillables Ltd. Her Refill Station offers ethical, eco-friendly bathing and cleaning products as well as plastic-free alternatives for your daily life. In the last 7 months, she has refilled ~4,500 bottles, is involved in various clubs or plastic-free committees and has given speeches in various companies, town halls and at the University of Reading.
