  • The 2018 Circular Economy Taiwan (CE Taiwan) to be held at the Nangang Exhibition Hall I, Taipei from September 19 – 21 is the only B2B international “trade show” focusing on circular economy in Taiwan. Coming to the show, the visitors not only get to see the innovative technologies and comprehensive solutions in circular economy, but could also have a glimpse of what the future holds for the industry and where the business opportunities will be by attending different “industry forums”. The CE Taiwan is an international transaction platform for the exhibitors to launch their iconic green products, showcasing the entire green ecosystem in different stages, ranging from the making to the recycling.
“Circular economy is becoming a must and Taiwan government also identifies current global trends towards it. Taiwan has a very efficient recycling system, with its garbage recycling rate up to 58%, amongst the top three in the world. Along with its diverse industry landscape, Taiwan does have a lot of advantages in developing circular economy,” pointed out by Mr. Walter Yeh, President and CEO of the event organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). An all-star lineup of exhibitors are about to give their best during the show: the Auping bed model, the first to have the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) silver certificate in the world and made with pure materials and components, more than 50% of them recyclable; the light and energy-saving refractory bricks made with recycled glass from the Spring Pool Glass; the Desso carpet made with biodegradable materials that can improve indoor air quality and reduce the number of microorganisms due to its filtering capacity; and eTouchic that is dedicated into turning FPC (Fiber Particulate Composite) made of 100% natural ingredients from agricultural by-products, such wheat husks and coffee residues, etc. into something like plastic or to be mixed with petrochemical plastic for various uses.
The CE Taiwan features the “Circular Economy Pavilion”, the “Eco-Tech Pavilion”, the “IAQ Pavilion” and the “Smart Water Pavilion” that demonstrates the latest solutions from the leading companies and research institutes from Taiwan, including the China Steel Corporation, the Metal Industries Research and Development Center, and the Precision Machinery Research and Development Center. For the one-on-one procurement meeting, the delegates from Kawasaki, the famous eco town in Japan will be there to exchange with their potential partners from Taiwan, while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is invited to set up a counter to help the Taiwan companies with registration in their database, making them green product suppliers on the list and having a better chance bidding for the international projects.
Another highlight of the CE Taiwan is definitely its forums. The CE Forum – New Business Model that will gather around the representatives of international and local players from the ICT, textile, bioenergy and food leftover recycling industries to exchange ideas on various topics, whereas the speakers from IKEA and other international brands will be talking about green product procurement strategies, how to take part in the international green supply chain, as well as business opportunities in circular economy in Taiwan, southeast Asian and south Asian countries and the global market at the Circular Taiwan for Future Common Wealth.
