“Circular Cities Week” CEC London and LWARB are hosting panel discussions on how Circular Economy can help London recover from COVID
About this Event
“It is estimated that the every Londoner contributes 12.6 tonnes of CO2 per yeardue to the amount of stuff they consume each year. Consumption is responsible for 45% of global CO2 emissions and these emissions are harder to abate because they relay on either significant technological change or require system change. In order to meet the 1.5c climate safe warming ceiling set out in Paris, cities like London will need to reduce consumption based emission by around two thirds by 2030 and in 2050 Londoners will need to produce only 0.7 tonnes per year.”
The Circular Economy Club “Circular Cities Week” is an annual, decentralised global event, which will facilitate a reduction in C02 consumption by:
- Raising awareness about the potential for the circular economy to build more resilient cities, considering the current COVID-19 pandemic; and
- Engaging citizens to design and implement a circular city and gather suggestions to create a global report gathering the top suggestions.
